The miniseries isn't even close to as good as the novel. Having said that, I loved the miniseries when I was a kid and it still has some nostalgic value to it.

No Wiz, you don't know the story at all, not really. You know parts of it, but they gutted the book so bad in the miniseries that it is almost unrecognizable compared to the novel. Read it or don't, that's up to you but you WILL be missing a classic if you don't.

I've not read It either and I really should.

I loved BOTH The Shining film and the book both for different reasons therefore I see them as completely seperate entities.

I agree with Villain that Pet Sematary was better as a film and I think Salem's Lot was better as a book.

I also prefer Hellraiser to the Hellbound Heart which I've said before I think to be Barker's weakest book.Closely joined by The Thief Of Always of course.

Wow, I definitely can't get on board with what you said about Pet Semetary, the book is my second favorite of his and I thought the movie was mediocre at best, I do agree with you on Salem's Lot though.

I had seen It before I had read it so when I was reading it I kept thinking to myself, "This wasn't in the movie, this wasn't in the movie, they left this out, too..." There were things that I did and didn't like about the miniseries but it is definitely not my favorite King adaptation. The book was better.

When it comes to Cujo, I hated the movie so I've never been bothered to read the book. From what I read, the book isn't very good either though.
