I agree to a certain extent that character development is important but i found there was too much of it.Take another look at the first series, honestly, how much zombie action was there,if i am to be honest not a great deal, apart from the opening episode that is which was great.

Dont get me wrong,i loved the show but it needed...........more of what a zombie show should be and thats zombies.
I agree with you. Definitely needed more zombies. I enjoyed the show but there were just so many stupid things that happened that i disliked which im not even gonna get into. I may have already posted about it. I forget.

I think they like to pad out a story to make a series out of something.By having love triangles and or people with a hidden agenda it takes time to develop,BUT,as a horror fan and a zombie lover what i want is some action.

Yes,you can still have the story but it doesn't have to take over four fifth`s of the show.If i want story's like this i can watch a re-run of the Walton's or Little House on the Prairie.:)

Maybe it'll appeal a bit more after you turn fifteen.
:D

But seriously, having read the comic from beginning to the current issues as they've come out I can see the only reason it's had the longevity it does is on account of the fact it's not just a single event/place covered...it's not just people running from zombies or focussed upon one attack or a survival situation.
That works in movies, sure. I've never much felt the need for an above average plot in a zombie film...surely you can't expect to have an emotional connection to zombie fodder etc, though in the ongoing sense of the comic and (hopefully) the tv show, I don't think it's a negative.
I mean if you look at it this way, it's a lot higher a zombie action percentage than the average NON-zombie show, right?
If it was all action/flesh eating/zombie killing...it just wouldn't be able to last, it would be pretty stupid if it were actually drawn out, the plotlines would become thinner and thinner and yeah...essentially while you can expect that from a zombie movie it's the wrong expectation from the get go with something like this.
Having read the series upon which it's based though, I can tell you there is a LOT more action to come...there will be death and mayhem, much violence and splatter enough to satisfy any zombie fan.
Some of the more interesting threats come from other things too.

Maybe we'll see them in season 2?

I thought the first episode of season two was GREAT. There were a couple places where I thought the dialogue was a little bit cheesy in the soap opera scenes, but overall, I thought it was exciting, suspenseful, and just the right amount of zombie action.

IMO, I think the sparing use of zombies makes it more "realistic." In this situation what you're trying to do is AVOID zombies, so it's more realistic if they only show up occasionally.
