Really? None of you know this film?

It's British, it's written around a true story, the guy with the "brick" is Dickie Attenborough, and the story in question is famous for a possible miscarriage of justice.

That's the one :-)

The story of serial killer John Christie, this film takes the popular line that Timothy Evans who was accused of murdering his wife and daughter (and hanged for the latter in 1950), was in fact innocent and framed by Christie.

One of the main arguments in Evans' defense is the unlikely co-incidence of two killers living at the same address. He was postumously pardoned in 1966, but the case is still still debated.

Great film anyway, Attenborough does an excellently creepy job of playing Christie.

Ditto, a great film indeed & Attenborough was also convincingly menacing as John Christie. Loved John Hurt's performance also...there were some desperate, emotionally moving moments from his side. One of the most underrated early 70s gems; NE (neverending) is also another great admirer of this movie.

Anyway, here's my challenge from a great flick of early 80s....
