Aron Eisenberg.
It's not known how or why yet...just that it was sudden. Who was he? He was known for Star Trek DS9, which many still regard as the overall "best" ST series. He played Nog, the troublesome young nephew of Quark the Ferengi conman/bar owner. The character went from a scumbag kid, all the way to becoming a Starfleet officer, and actually went to war. Great character development, and he played the character memorably. Stayed friends with his former child co-star Cirroc Lofton (Jake), and the two of them regularly appeared in "The seventh Rule" (T79 - it's on youtube) which is ran by a dude that does a few of the ST facebook pages, where they talk all things Star Trek and have some pretty cool guests on too. I'd recommend taking a look, though it might be a while until we see more, sadly. Well... R.I.P little guy. Star Trek: DS9 playing Nog:
