1 - The Stand
2 - The Shining 3 - The Dark Tower (series) 4 - Salem's Lot 5 - It (a bit of a preference for King's early work here -- when it was more horror than literary) |

I've only read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Cujo and Carrie. Currently working my way through Pet Sematary.

I would say:
1. The Stand 2. Needful Things 3. Pet Sematary 4. Misery 5. It's not horror, but under a different pen name King wrote a novella that became The Shawshank Redemption, which is just as perfect a gem in novella form as in film. edited to fix tags
