Letherface (2017)
 The idea was to explore the younger years of Leatherface...so this time they "tried to give a little different perspective" by putting him into a mental institution when he was a kid but after a break out he escaped with a few other lunatics and eventually returns to the farm & become 'Leatherface' at the very end! Although I didn't find it as horrible as Texas Chainsaw (2013) but as a whole it just turned out a very average 'lunatic criminals on run with a killing spree' sort of flick, not something that can be regard as a worthy addition to the franchise. And how much you cry out loud & say ‘this is not a TCM film, just an origin or back story of Leatherface, you just can’t make it a separate film as he’s the most iconic character of the franchise. Even if we take it as a standalone film, it’d still remain as just another very mediocre (or I won’t argue if someone says below average) flick. But I should say the initial idea or approach was fairly decent though. The 2003 remake & it’s prequel (2006) implied he was suffered from a facial disfigurement and a skin disease that caused severe deformities and tumors to his face which contributed his muteness & mental retardation but this time they wanted to show he could have supposed to be a normal kid but under certain circumstances, family issues and after some chain of psychologically affecting horrible events he forced to become the beast who eventually gain the notoriety & become known as Letherface; the problem lies on the rest…the story that they finally built on this idea, the execution and the tone. The gritty, dark & unsettling look & feel all over that a TCM flick supposed to carry was totally missing. But I've found one positive aspect and that is intentionally or not they are now just making those 2 Michael Bay produced TCM flicks [The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) & The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: THE BEGINNING (2006)] look really great by adding this sort of pointless, shitty installments to the franchise. Many fans of the first two original films didn't like or just straightway hated whatever Marcus Nispel & Jonathan Liebesman did respectively in 2003 & 2006 (and personally I liked them a lot) but now it just makes me wonder what would they think of now about Texas Chainsaw (2013) & this one!? Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo did surprise the genre fans with their 2007 debut feature INSIDE but sad to say, after that they couldn't make any major or good horror movie so far. Livid (2011) had an interesting premise but didn't turn out anything special and then 'Among the Living' in 2014 which was more or less as lame as their latest 'Letherface'. At least I won't get excited for their movies anymore. >>: C-

"It" 8-9/10
"Annabelle: Creation" 8/10 Got halfway through "Cult of Chucky", which, in the beginning, I believed was a fan made movie untill I discovered the original Andy was in it. Not particularly good. Same as the last Chucky movie, except this time it takes place in an insane asylum instead of a big mansion.

TO DIE FOR (1995). Pretty good film based upon the Pam Smart case with good performances, especially by Nicole Kidman, who Leonard Maltin declared "Terrific" and I must agree. ***1/2
