Brad Dourif Has Retired from Acting With One Killer Exception

https://www.comingsoon.net/tv/news/1...red-chucky?amp

Chucky actor Brad Dourif has said he is effectively retired from acting with one notable exception: he’ll keep voicing the legendary killer doll.

Speaking with JoBlo.com‘s Tyler Nichols, Dourif confirmed he only came back to play Chucky in the television series, which is almost at the end of its third season, for his daughter and co-star Fiona Dourif and creator Don Mancini, whom he considers family.

So Dourif will continue to play Chucky in any future projects, but outside that, he’s not picking up any new roles. With Don Mancini planning a new Chucky movie and a fourh season of the show, Dourif looks likely to be on our screens for a while longer yet.

Brad Dourif, now 74, started playing Chucky in 1988’s Child’s Play and has returned to voice the character for six more movies and three seasons of the television show.

While it’s perhaps his most known role, he’s had quite the acting career with memorable turns in the likes of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Lord of the Rings, The X-Files, The Exorcist III, Star Trek: Voyager, Deadwood, the video game Dishonored, and Rob Zombie’s Halloween movies.
