Ringu, Event Horrizont (ok itsnot horror as much as its sci-fi, but never the less if thats the case, what the hell is Jason X then) and A Tale of Two Sisters.

What about The Fog. I think Carpenter did a good job. Old movie but still scarry.

The Fog actually freaked me out, despite it's obvious age. Sometimes, the more that's left to your imagination, the scarier.
