Throwback/retro horror new movies in the old school vein

The last however many years I have been obsessed with new movies that are made like they are from the 80's/70's/60's etc. How they are shot looks like it was from back then or that kind of feel, story takes place back then etc.

Some of them are quite mainstream like Rob Zombie's movies, others are completely underground. I'm talking about stuff like House of the Devil, Babysitter Wanted, Frailty, It Follows, The Love Witch, The Editor, Beyond the Black Rainbow, Mandy, Jim Van Bebber's The Manson Family, The Void etc.

I just can't get enough of this stuff. Can anyone recommend some of these type of movies that could've slipped past me?

Let the Right One In was a good story for sure, very original. I don't know if I would consider it a throwback but obviously you do, something about it reminds you of the classic stuff.

I put Frailty and It Follows on that list because they definitely have that old school feel. The plot twists in Frailty remind me of Tales From the Crypt. It Follows, you can't really tell what time period it is but to me it has that vibe, it surely stands apart from almost all the newer movies, at least to me.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I'm going to check out those trailers right now.

If you guys haven't seen the movies on that list above, I highly recommend all of them.

I just watched Purgatory Road. I'm not even sure I'd call it horror but damn it was good. The best thing I've seen in a while for sure. I'll watch the Theta Girl after work if I can find it online.

Yeah, those recommendations are right up my alley for sure. Shot on film with no CGI. Thanks Deadbeat.

If you have It Follows in there, how about The Guest? And if we're going in that vein, perhaps Drive?

Def. That was a good one.

An obvious one is also Summer of '84 and of course Stranger Things.

I remember "let the right one in" was made to look like it was the 80's. Definitely remember some of the music was.

I don't recall thinking 'retro' when I saw Let the right one in. It's been a long time ago, but I don't even remember the setting being in the 80s, but like CronoGrl mused, it did strike me as Swedish, and traditional horror. If anything it struck me as both modern and a bit 70's horror drama.
