Brad Pitt enters the "Dark Void"!

Brad Pitt's production company has grabbed up the rights to video game Dark Void, in order to develop it as a possible vehicle for him.

Void finds a pilot crash-landing in the Bermuda Triangle, waking up to discover he's on a parallel, primitive world where humans are battling aliens who come bristling with superior technology.

Don't all rush out to buy it, though - the game hasn't even hit the shops yet and won't be out until January.

Capcom has announced that their unreleased title "Dark Void" has been picked up by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment as a potential vehicle for the "Inglourious Basterds" star.

"Dark Void" serves up a pretty wacky story about a cargo pilot who crashes in the Bermuda Triangle, only to wake up in a parallel universe. There he finds other humans -- Survivors -- who have banded together to fight an alien race known as The Watchers. It's a good thing the Survivors have Nikola Tesla on their side -- yes, that's where he went -- to re-purpose Watcher technology for human use.

Presuming that the story packs more punch than the above synopsis lets on, this could make for good adaptation fodder. Especially with someone as talented and savvy as Pitt calling some of the shots.

Project is the first to come out of Reliance’s development silo with Plan B after the deal was first announced at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. It’s unknown when development is scheduled to begin on the project, although it’s expected to be some time early to mid 2010.

Capcom will release the vidgame on various platforms in North America and Europe in January next year.
