Lots of good stuff here. About ¾ of the way through and not one clunker yet.

Thumbs up

Slow build-up over the first 100 pages then the plunge begins. Convinced reading this would be a transformative experience in sfear's life.

Okay, I've seen it around. Will snag it when I come across a nice copy. Thing about Fowles is, when a guy I corresponded with in sf fandom a long time ago read The French Lieutenant's Women he was so bowled over by it he gave up sf on the spot and devoted the rest of his time to mainstream/literature. Is Fowles that powerful?

FARGO, ROCK CITY-Chuck Klosterman. Pretty amusing record of small town boy and how Heavy Metal music changed his life. Quite a bit of rambling (think Chuck took lessons from the late Lester Bangs), but worth checking out.

Stephen King has been speaking to his readers over the years Hammerfan ... It's the usual top shelf high caliber horror literature from an icon. I'm very excited!

Best Known Works of Edgar A. Poe. A nice anthology from 1927 I came across in a thrift store. I have a little crush on Edgar. IDK if that's weird or not.

At the moment it's Owning Jacob by Simon Beckett. It's not a masterpiece but still thrilling.
I really hope I can get myself a few books written by Clive Barker soon. I couldn't find them anywhere so I think I'll have to order them.
