The main character Adam Green is played by...Adam Green. I'm assuming he's not playing himself, if he is he's a fair sized asshole. But I believe its acting and done well. The opening of the film is talking to various people at a horror con(s?) about why they like monsters. I think this takes away from the film. The feel of the segment doesn't match up with the rest of the film.
The acting is decent, again Adam Green doing a very good job of bring an unpleasant person. Ray Wise is also very good as the person who brings the story to Adam Green. Mostly the film is entertaining, but I found myself wanting the film to stop focusing on Adam Green's reactions to everything. While his character is played well, its too much of someone you're not meant to like. I do not want to say much because the premise is a man wants to prove there are monsters and anything I might say could indicate if it ends up being true, a hoax, a little of each, etc. Its worth at least one watch, I'd recommend it. $3.99 at www.vudu.com.

I agree with you Boss. It is worth a watch. I disagree with you on some points ( I thought Adam Green gave an awful performance) but I do think horror fans will enjoy the concept, as well as some of the creature designs. There were times Digging Up the Marrow looked like a "backyard filming with buddies project",but I suppose it was in many ways so that's forgivable. The story could have been stronger and certainly a bit more elaborate, but for the most part, yeah I'd say your 6 of 10 rating is pretty fair. I am a pretty big Adam Green fan so there is a chance that my thoughts are a little slanted, of course.

Ok Exeter was awful. I made it half way through. Generic characters. The blonde who loses her shit, the muscular guy who's overly aggressive, the geeky friend, and so on. And they're not doing an ode to horror films like Cabin in the Woods so instead its just old and tired. The acting is bad, the dialogue is bad, and yet again people thinking if they shoot in a rundown/abandoned building it'll make the movie good. No.

This description hardly gives it justice. The characters are interesting, compelling, and legitimately earn the pathos of the watcher. What I find amazing about this film is that, at no point, did I find myself saying questioning my suspension of disbelief; I was able to suspend my belief entirely, even despite what seems to be a ridiculous plot. This movie is dark, well-written, and well-acted. Some good jumps, some good blood, and overall recommended.
Altered (2006)

C+ 6/10

Took chronogrls recommendation. Fun little creature film. Nice production value. An Evil Dead 2 tone - funny tongue-in-cheek seriousness. I would have liked it to dig deeper into the personal interaction between the men and the alien, as it plots a revenge motive without diving into the anything substantially emotionally personal. As a result one gets the impression the film is holding back and staying shallow. There's really no torture, no revenge and no catharsis.

A van carrying a female roller derby team runs out of gas right in front of an abandoned asylum. In the asylum, one of them is attacked by an almost feral young woman. Bodies with the eyes removed start piling up while they try to figure what has happened to the girl. The ending pretty much sucked.

VHS and VHS2

I prefer the second, although 1 has some solid moments. Safe Haven reminds me of a dream I once had and is kinda pants-shitting

Para Elisa, 2015.

Thumb resize.

IMDb;Para Elisa is a terrifying story based on a simple, innocent children's game. Something that looks naive and harmless turns into the worst nightmare, into the struggle to escape a tragic and expected end, into an explicit and inevitable horror.

I don't know what children's game they are talking about?!?!

Thumb resize.

Very brutal and sick storyline but they really didn't take it anywhere. I really wanted to accentuate on the insanity that consumed this family. It ended abruptly.

It is available to rent on Amazon Prime.

Goldeneye.

I really used to like James Bond...and while the last one with Brosnan felt like it lost direction a little bit...these movies were just fun.

The Daniel Craig movies, to me?
They're just not James Bond movies.
They are movies with a guy called James Bond in them, and in their own right they're ok films...just...not what I want.

I wonder if maybe one day there'll be something more like a fusion of the two.

GoldenEye is one of my favorite Bond flicks. Yeah...TND & TWINE were fun & watchable but DAD was one of the terrible 007 films ever, IMO.

About Craig films....I really love Casino Royale, though it was a great comeback for Bond in contemporary / modern era & really a fantastic addition for a change than any other usual bond flicks. Loved its gritty, less action but more serious approach in terms of an espionage thriller. But yeah...QOS not only comes with a weird title but totally a misfire as a Bond flick.
And as for your 'fusion of the two'...I thought SKYFALL kind of falls in that category. Really looking forward to see SPECTRE as soon as it hits the theater here.
