Well not all of his songs are horror related, but Alice Cooper has done his fair share of genre work. Easily my favourite.

Calabrese is a damn good band also IMO. The owe alot to The Misfits (who are a better band), but I still really enjoy theyre music.

although not 100% horror oriented (thank god) i love Blue Oyster Cult for the horror oriented songs they've done ..

Joan Crawford Has Risen From The Grave
Godzilla
Dont Fear The Reaper
Black Blade (more heroic fantasy)
lots more ..

I personally think horror oriented bands are a one line joke ... they guys that dress up and everything they do and sing and say are all about horror.
pathetically without depth, completely uninteresting after the initial exposure.

gott a love "Surfin' Dead" from Return of the Living Dead....

Ah, my favorite brain soup -
Cream of nowhere

Ooh baby, your asphalt eater hung ten
The hoedads and gremmies say you reached top end
So do the dead, through the lights
The surfin' dead, oooh make it tight
The livin' dead now baby lose their heads
Now baby, doin' the dead

Yeah you're a high-rev hauler with all four on the floor
But your a-bone's busted and you're through the door
So do the dead, juice the Coupe
Come on the livin' dead, ooh you're in the soup
The livin' dead now baby, like I said now baby, do the dead

Your carburetor don't carb, got a hammer down this
Your generator gens but your pistons don't work
Do the dead, run for ten
The surfin dead, c'mon turn it in
The livin' dead insist, it's the latest twist, do the dead
Run run run run, now do it

Stay sick!

You square brains out there better beware

Oh this phantom driver down in the ground
You better plant 'em right or they'll come around
Move out baby, move that mound
Or they'll dig it up and they'll shut you down
So c'mon, aw c'mon, aw c'mon . . .

Now life is short and it's filled with stuff
So let me know baby when you've had enough
Oh do the dead, turn blue
Yeah the surfin' dead, as dead as you
There's nothing on the radio when you're dead
There's nothing at the movie show when you're dead
There's nowhere left for you to go when you're dead
Do the dead, yeah do the dead
Do the dead, surfin' dead

"Your generator gens but your pistons don't..........work"

makes me laugh every time ..

I wouldnt really call that horror related...damn good song of course, but just 'cause it mentions "the Reaper" doesnt really make it horror.

Have you seen The Stand, Urge? I would assume that you have....great use of that song. I didnt bother to watch the whole thing, but that opening scene was awesome.

it doesnt just mention the reaper - it is all about the reaper ... death ..etc

between the mood of the song and the lyrics .. i'd say it fits in with the horror deal .

Dontīt Fear (the Reaper) by Blue Oyster Cult

All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind the sun or the rain (we can be like they are)
Come on baby (don't fear the reaper)
Baby take my hand (don't fear the reaper)
We'll be able to fly (don't fear the reaper)
Baby I'm your man
La-la-la-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la-la-la-la

Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet Are together in eternity (Romeo and Juliet)
40,000 men and women everyday (like Romeo and Juliet)
40,000 men and women everyday (redefine happiness)
Another 40,000 coming everyday (we can be like they are)
Come on baby (don't fear the reaper)
Baby take my hand (don't fear the reaper)
We'll be able to fly (don't fear the reaper)
Baby I'm your man
La-la-la-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la-la-la-la

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear that she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew and then disappeared
The curtains flew and then he appeared (saying don't be afraid)
Come on baby (and she had no fear)
And she ran to him (then they started to fly)
They looked backwards and said goodbye (she had become like they are)
She had taken his hand (she had become like they are)
Come on baby (don't fear the reaper)
