Ichi The Killer is not mainstream? Well, maybe not. (Haven't seen GOZU [2003] yet. Or Dead or Alive: Trilogy. ) Oh boy. I only have heard about the remake and how bad it is. (What to expect?) |

Kuntilanak 2 aka The Chanting 2 (2007)
Yup...not as good or effectively scary like the first one but this is a decent sequel at least. Sad, there's no English subtitle available for the 3rd part on youtube or any torrent sites yet. >>: B

I was wondering if anyone has seen "A Tale of Two Sisters". Is it anything worth watching?

Ghost Of Oiwa (1961)
Another classic film adaptation of the popular Japanese ghost story Yotsuya Kaidan. Nobuo Nakagawa's 1959 color version was more into horror & creepy but this is more of a drama than a horror flick. Still a good watch indeed. >>: B+

You have psycho-sexual disturbing content, starting with the incest scene and you are confronted with other disturbing concepts, including violence and the violent scenes were played with humor, using violence to cut the intensity - Almost as though Miike was saying, "I'm going to create something so disturbing that THESE VIOLENCE SCENES will give you relief" If I recall. It's been a while and I'm not sure I need to see it again. Not that I think it's a bad movie; I just don't know if I need to feel icky like that again. I used to have a thing for Miike -
The ending was a bit of a let down for me but otherwise I found it to be really genuinely creepy. Last edited by ChronoGrl; 09-23-2014 at 11:32 AM. |

I watched the original Godzilla. I tell you what I think I just wasted a hour of my life.

Godzilla is one of the most important horror films of the 50s, and is a brilliant piece of cinema. |
