The Tingler
It seems as if most people i've talked to have never seen and or heard of this classic movie.
Just wondering if anyone here has seen this classic 1959 vincent price movie.

Isn't that the movie with the gimmick special effect? I haven't seen it but I heard that in certain movie houses, they placed buzzers under the seats, which were activated at key moments, resulting in screams and inevitably followed by laughter.

Percepto! Good old William Castle! This movie is a lot of fun, even without the rigged seats.

Perhaps you could put a phone on vibrate, sit on it and give yourself a call at the key moment.

This is a classic. This was one of the movies that was in constant rotation on TV before cable. I even own the laser disc. Now, that's a classic.
For those of you laughing, laser discs actually look a lot better then DVD. Of course having to flip the disc midway through a movie sucks. |

This is my favorite Castle film. It doesn't need the gimmick to be a good movie. There are some genuine scary moments in the movie, and Price is wonderful as always... and it has the distinction of being the first movie to depict an LSD trip on film.

Definitely a fun film, had a sort of old school pulp feel (how I see it anyways). Vincent Price, great as always.

Yes, I remember this one.
Did not see at theatre, so I never got the buzzer effect. I saw it on TV. Fun William Castle film with Vincent Price during his reign as king of horror. It comes on TCM at times so I need to record this one. |
