“The House that Jack Build” 6/10

More Nymphomaniac blibber blabber of random knowledge. Yay...

Only good thing about this movie was the performance of Matt Dillon. The ending was shiiiiiit.

Seems to be no middle ground with this one people either love it or hate it. I've been waiting on the uncut version to be released but I should just jump in and check it out.

Would you put it beyond Von Trier to see the humour in those reactions?

As in: not only did I piss off the folks who were shocked by the gore, but I also managed to annoy the sensation hounds attracted by the controversy and the gore.

Haha no I wouldn't. He would be rubbing his hands in glee.

LORD OF THE RINGS:THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING (2001). My wife and daughter are both rabid fans of the Tolkien books, but I find them all but sleep inducing (I first read THE HOBBIT in High school for a class and just torture to get through it). However, the films by Peter Jackson are very very good and this is exemplary filmmaking. Have fond memories of the release dates for the trilogy all were around my Daughter's birthday, so we always took her to opening day. *****

That's great, I think there's some great moral lessons for kids. I've found Fellowship to be one of the best films all-time. I enjoyed the following two, but I don't think they measured up to the first.

Looks like some good cinematography. Watching the trailer, first I thought the father was Jeff Daniels. I guess it was moderately successful?

I know, but, my friend wanted to see it. I tried to warn him, but, no go.
