Awesome movie. The atmosphere is chilling. Some sick scenes in here believe it or nahhh. I really enjoyed it. I watched it twice and caught more pretty things the second time around...

THE INHABITANTS 2015

Very creepy story of a young couple buying an old bed and breakfast in New England. Settings were beautiful with fog shrouded black and white forests scenes. There were parts that genuinely scared me and I didn't want to look, lol. My only complaint is that sometimes it was hard to make out what was going on because it was so dark.

Killed some time this weekend with a couple of re-watches and a first viewing of something I should have swerved!

Neighbor - 2009. 1/10
No redeeming features...well, apart from America Olivo.

Livide - 2011. 6.5/10
Beautiful and atmospheric. Spoiled slightly by terribly translated subtitles.

Tony - 2009. 8/10
Grim and depressing little movie, with an amazing performance from Peter Ferdinando, as Tony.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) (3D)
I.M.D.B.
When Jacob discovers clues to a mystery that stretches across time, he finds Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. But the danger deepens after he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers.

What the fuck was this movie? A woman keeps a bunch of 'peculiar' children in a time loop forever, reliving the same day over and over, and she's not the villain of the story? Much of this movie was incredibly dumb. And Hollywood, please stop making Chris O'Dowd do American accents.
5/10

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) (3D)
I.M.D.B.
The Rebel Alliance makes a risky move to steal the plans for the Death Star, setting up the epic saga to follow.

Great movie! Looks spectacular, characters you end up caring about, nostalgic feels - a really good edition to the Star Wars movie-verse. A thoroughly enjoyable movie experience.
9/10

I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016)

I.M.D.B.
A young nurse takes care of elderly author who lives in a haunted house.

A lot of build up with very little pay off. An easily forgettable movie because very little happens. All atmosphere and not much else. Some nicely written narration though.
6/10

Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Swiss Army Man

Excellent double feature - two very different takes on an unconventional partnership surviving in the wilderness.

Wilderpeople was a solid watch, but Swiss Army Man has to be one of the most baffling, ridiculous and utterly satisfying movie watching experiences I've ever had. Totally unique and highly recommended.

THE SHALLOWS (2016). While the plot is pretty basic, still a pretty suspenseful flick with better than average CGI and a decent performance by Blake Lively. ***1/2
