The Possession of Michael King

Any Possession of Michael King fans out there?

I saw it twice, really liked it both times. The lead actor is excellent, really seems to fall apart in front of the camera.

Most critics trashed it ... for all the wrong reasons imo.

I remember very little except I gave it 2/5 stars. I think I posted about it, but it was taking to long searching the forums, did not find it.

Saw it tonight, rach. Have to say I did not like it. Felt it was over-acted and disgusting in some parts involving the sister and little girl. But maybe that's what they were going for...

RachMiel, try to post your threads in the relevant forums in the future. This one, as well as It Follows, belongs in the "Latest Horror Movies" section.

Thank you.

Sorry you didn't like it, BL.

Yes, I think disgust/repulsion was a goal. (In fact, the movie reminded me of Repulsion here 'n there.) It's one of the things I liked ... that it went far.

As for the acting of the main character (I assume that's who you're talking about?), I bought it, felt it emerged from his personality, the situation, and his possession/illness.

No, don't apologise. I have been wanting to watch it. I'm probably overly sensitive when it comes to children being scared. The premise though of someone trying to purposely invite evil into their life was pretty cool. I thought the lead actor and the actress who played the wife were both a little over the top.

If you're uncomfortable with parents getting weird with their kids, you probably shouldn't see The Babadook. ;-)
