Godzilla vs. Kong

I don't know how I'm going to feel about this. I love them both and kinda dreading this film when I heard about it.

One thing though....the music blows!

Looks pretty interesting. The cinematography is impressive at least.

I see Kong has become a big boy now. He don't have to climb any tall buildings anymore. He can just walk over them

I don't get why people want to see big monster fight movies. It's the equivalent of watching animal fights to me. I tend to like it when the animals get pissed and go after the people.

Did you ever see Pacific Rim? It's giant robots fighting giant monsters. That was done freakin well! Two giant monsters fighting isn't much different. The last Godzilla films had some decent kaiju fights.

Plus, it's just a fictional movie, it's not like the humans get the two monsters to fight each other for human entertainment, has never happened in any Godzilla film. 'Cruelty to animals' is very far removed from this. The monsters tend to be more than animals, closer to sentient beings.

Shouldn't Godzilla be a hell of a lot bigger than Kong? Maybe they juiced him up with steroids.

I was surprised how much I liked it. It was just plain cool. Surprised it was wasn't a bigger commercial hit, with a toy line and everything.

Good point! I used to love to point out to people that King Kong -- in the 1933, 2005, etc is about 24 feet (7m) tall. Whereas Godzilla, in the original 1954 film is (50m) 164 feet tall. Over the films, he would become taller, to 330 feet (100m) and in the 2019 film was 393 feet (120m), which is obviously about how tall King Kong is in this new film.

Although Kong was smaller in the 2017 Legendary film at 104 feet (32m)... the film specifies he's an adolescent and still growing.

I haven't seen Pacific Rim yet but I want to. I guess I see or know many animals are smart. I saw I think the latest Godzilla remake when he saved the city from two or three creatures. The creatures were making a nest in the city. That was an ok movie I guess. But still I see no reason for King Kong and Godzilla to fight. The Godzilla movies I've seen seem to always involve him saving people or a city. And King Kong just wants to be left alone on his island or with the blonde girl.

I haven't seen the last King Kong movie yet either but I want to.
