today was free comic book day so I went and scored a free comic grab bag. About 20 assorted comics for free that I need to get to.

They also had a sale on different comics so I picked up Fables 2. I'm stoked to get reading it.

Cable
The current run is one of Marvels best comics in AGES, I've enjoyed it from the beginning...being (mainly) outside of marvels/xmens continuity, it's had some real room to move...it's almost like a lone wolf and cub story with time travel involved...seriously good stuff, and phenomenal art.
Can't recommend it highly enough, but I'd definately start at issue 1.

How many are there and are they in trade form? I could look it up but I'm too lazy. On a side note I've always been a fan of Cable but all I really know about him is that he is the son of Jean Grey and Scott Summers if I remember correctly.

Just read #14.
Not sure if there's a trade out yet.
Yeah cable is the son of Scott and some clone of Jean Grey who's usually been a bad guy (Madelyn Pryor...don't know too much about her), they sent him into the future when he got the legacy virus thing, and he grew up there or something along those lines.
But yeah, new series is just great.

I have read the last series, and the current GA/Black Canary series.
Good stuff...I understand a little while ago, maybe the series before the one I read, he hung out with green lantern a lot?
Should be a fun read all the same, I quite like the character.

Some classic shit in that run. Neal Adams and Denny O'Neill completely revamped the Green Arrow character, and the series with him and Green Lantern in the early 70's had some really groundbreaking moments. Worth a look for sure if you can find 'em.
