I have a lot of patience. Plus a long list of games, movies, comics, and books to get to. So to not make it seem like a chore, I wait till I'm ready or at the right time. And get the final version since so many Resident Evil games now get a "Gold" version later on. And the PS5 VR rumors news was a few days ago.

Plus with good horror stuff I like to wait till the October month these days. I just watched the first 30 minutes or so of the new Blair Witch and stopped. It was really good so I want to watch the rest during October.

Besides right now I'm attempting to clear up all my downloads for PSP, Vita, and PS3. Sony decided not to shut down PS3 and Vita for now. But they will eventually. That's why I hate download only games. I already missed a few that were delisted.

Okay okay. I understand the VR wait. But damn, October is a long time ahead.

Less than 5 months. This first 5 months passed fast for some reason.

I do need to decide what I'm going to do about that cloth map that they have in the Collector's version of the game. I passed on the maps for the Part 2 and 3 remakes. But this one looks good.

They need to do a Code Veronica remake and make a map for that.

Thumbs down

This game sucks. It's just a game that helped to create a bunch of pointless memes about Alcina Dimitrescu.

Any correlation to the previous games feels extremely forced in, just like Chris coming back feels a tad out of place as well. Now I didn't find it unenjoyable, but you honestly have to know about the franchise and what made it work to begin with.

The idea that a type of mould can create machines and vampires and things that look like werewolves, is just silly. At least in the older games, it was somewhat more believable in a weird scientific manner. Although even saying that is hard, as it's probably not meant to make much sense anyway.

Quite frankly, Chris is only in these shallow cash grab games because he's the main character of the older, far better games. I've always hated Capcom's move towards action with overrated dog shit like Resident Evil 4, which isn't even scary at all anymore. This is just more of what they've been doing already.

There's so many plot threads in this series, that it's ridiculous. They always seem to end one game to where you THINK Capcom will set up a continuation. But then they usually make up a new storyline in the next game, that creates an even bigger mess. It just gets annoying when this is all they ever do.

I know some people won't agree, but Capcom has wrecked the franchise. Even those two remakes we got in recent years, were commercial dog shit. Yet since people admire the original Resident Evil 2 and will defend Capcom regardless of what they churn out, criticising the remake will be like blasphemy in the eyes of purists. But it's kind of dumb how the third remake, which is vastly similar, gets all this hate. It's just stupid, considering they both have their faults.

Hell, the second remake basically repeats cutscenes between both scenarios. In the original, it actually felt like Leon and Claire had a separate adventure. The remake felt like a teenage drama film with horror mixed in. Not to mention the story was trashed because there was inconsistent things, and they removed a lot of enemies, items, and locations, to save on money.

I'm sorry, but the series has lost whatever identity it had. Capcom even got a Dutch film director accusing them of stealing enemy designs from his movie. But yeah. I'm well aware that Capcom enjoys copying things. They even copied The Last of Us for Resident Evil: Revelations 2, with the winter section with you hunting white rabbits, and shit. But there was other stuff in the game they imitated as well.

If nobody even notices any of this, then I don't know what to tell you.

I will agree with you about the story in 8. But damn, I thought it was a blast to play through.
