HERE AND THERE-Elton John (1976). HAT doesn't seem to get any love , but I think it's a great document of Elton's career. "Here" is a command Performance for Princess Margaret with "Skyline Pigeon" and "Love Song" (Duet with composer Lesley Duncan) standing out. "There" is a Thanksgiving 1974 Madison Square Garden show where John Lennon turned up at the end. Simply fabulous with the powerful "Funeral For a Friend/Loves Lies Bleeding", "Your Song", "Take Me to the Pilot" and the John Lennon portion irresistible. He had a exemplary band at this time, especially Ax Man Davey Johnstone.

Kansas - Audio-Visions -- Been a long time since I listened to this. Very solid album, with a really diverse set of songs that actually work as an album. Some very free and loose compositions, mainly from Steve Walsh, make the album. Kerry Livgren still has some great songs on here, particularly Hold On, whereas some of his others are a little strict and serious, but still enjoyable compositions.

My favorite here, is one of Kansas' best songs, penned by Steve Walsh, that amazingly wasn't on the greatest hits, and so was saved from classic rock radio repeat-repeat-repeat hell: Got To Rock On:

LIVE AT LEEDS-The Who (1970) For my money THE best live album of all time, by anyone! So incredibly hard and primal. Realized Yesterday, it was the 51st anniversary of that show and still sounds amazing.
