COPS- the real life horror
Anyone have alot of problems with cops these days?? I get hastled alot because of the way i look and the car i drive but what happened to me today totally destroyed any lingering faith i had in their "civic" duty.
Well, to make a long story short, i had some friends up this weekend and they went kinda crazy on mixing drugs (stupid i know). Anyway, everything was fine and come sunday they left for the 3 hour drive back to their city. Well, 2 hours after they left i get a call that the driver is sick, pulled over on the side of the road, puking,Convulsing, and blacking out. He cant drive and the girl with him cant drive a stick so cant get him to the hospital. They dont know where they are exactly, out of town, so they cant get an ambulance there. So i get in the ol camaro and im haulin ass. 80 here 90 there, im usually very casual in my driving but this could have been life or death for my friend and it was up to me to get there fast. So im about half way there when i get on the freeway and blast it to about 135 or so (long strait away) and lol i see a motorcycle cop chasing me (lol waaaaaaay back) so i slow down let him catch up and pull me over. He asked if there was an emergency and i told him YES and asked him to help escort me. He says you should call 911, so i do and i cant give them exact directions because i dont know where they are, so 911 wants to talk to the officer so they can get his exact location. He says NO!!! he wont even talk to the 911 dispatcher, he says THIS ISNT MY PROBLEM! i asked well can you escort me then? im the only chance this kid may have!! he says "Its out of my area" and procedes to finish writing me a ticket for 93 in a 60. He held me up, wouldnt help at all, wouldnt even try to assist someone in an actuall emergency! probably because there was another motorist somewhere with a taillight out, and he needed to meet a quota. Sorry so long but i had to vent, im so tired of cops having this GOD complex and not "protecting and serving" but hassling and fineing. Oh and the guy is alright now, we got to him in time. |

Oh Yeah, if i didnt iterate it enough before:
If your going to do drugs (which i dont advise), be fucking responsible about it, know what your doing to yourself and be carefull. Dont make the mistake my friend did and mix whatever is around at the time, you can seriously hurt yourself. |

Hell yes I have. I go to a university where the cops make all their doughnut money off giving tickets to students which run about 20 bucks a pop, and they give them out constantly. Pigs.

Really, Doctor?
I don't think the cops hassle yopu because of the way you look (they can't really know that until they get up on you, can they?)
I don't think they hassle you because of the car you drive either. I think they probably hassle you because of the WAY you drive. Granted, in the case you mentioned, you had an actual emergency, but it sounds like that was an isolated incident. Were you in an emergency situation the other times you got "hastled"? I doubt it. If you're going to blatantly disregard the law because you just want to do what you want to do, then expect to get hassled...and accept it. And to the rest, it really doesn't matter if the cops in your area are dishing out tickets to buy their donuts or to buy their mammies televisions...the bottom line is, nobody gets tickets for obeying the law! If you don't want a ticket, don't break the law; if you don't care about the law, or feel you just can't slow it down (or whatever) then accept that getting that ticket is part of the territory.

The law is flawed. You either park in a space you can find, or drive around for 2 hours and miss class.

I haven't been hassled by a cop yet but I know it sux. I see people get hassled for doing the right thing and not the bad thing. one of these days a cop is going to pull somebody over on a highway for going 70 mph. lol.

Okay, I actually agree with much of what you said BUT, in defense of ARIOCH (who happens to be a great guy)...YOU live in Kentucky...HE lives in TEXAS...So you are thinking that there shouldn't be any difference...WRONG...There's a BIG difference. I know this because I have many family members living in Texas, we have gone down there lots of times and I've seen the differences, myself...I ALSO live in Kentucky...HERE, for the most part, the police are there to help, serve and protect...Therefore, YOU can defend them...However, in some places (like TEXAS...especially in the bigger cities) they can actually be out to just give you a hard time...You don't have to believe that, but I've BEEN THERE... I'm going to leave you with just one example of what I'm trying to show you... Arioch explained the situation and asked for help, not only was he NOT helped in a matter that could have involved life or death (can someone say "LACK OF CONCERN?") but he was then cited...Now...Ask YOURSELF this question...Given the EXACT same scenario where you live (KENTUCKY), What would have happened? I'm not sure which PART of Kentucky you live in, but I'll tell you what would have happened in the part where I live...The officer would have IMMEDIATELY called for an ambulance (without being asked to)...He would have escorted or followed me to the scene...helped out in any way that he could...stayed until it was taken care of...asked me if I wanted to ride with my friend in the ambulance (in which case he would have contacted a friend or family member for me so they could come get my car)...If I chose not to go to the hospital, he would have then told me to slow down and be careful going back home...I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT!!! If a person breaks down on the side of the road here, an officer will stop and offer assistance...If you have a flat tire here, an officer may change it for you (depending on whether or not he gets an emergency call)...I'VE SEEN THEM DO IT!...I, myself, was once walking home from the store, an officer saw me and gave me a ride home...If you call them before you go on vacation, they will watch your house for you while you're gone...If you haven't heard from your mother in a few days and can't reach her on the phone, an officer will drive to her house, and check on her for you, then call you back and let you know how she is... Is this how it is in the part of Kentucky where you live? If so, it would be very difficult for you to understand the problems that people face in other states...Of course, I agree with you 100% that people should obey the law, and if they purposefully choose to ignore the law, they must accept whatever consequenses they reap, no matter WHERE they are from...
