Smile greetings from a scaredy-cat

Hello!

As a form of introduction, I will step into the confessional:

I confess that I am not a horror movie fan. Simple put, horror movies are too scary for me. I think if I watched horror movies on a regular basis, I would die prematurely of old age, if such a thing is possible. Honestly, I don't know how you people do it...I am in awe! I still remember catching just a tiny glimpse of a horror movie trailer on TV when I was a kid (mid 70s I imagine) with a ghost floating down a hallway. I don't know if I slept at all that night. I wonder if anyone can identify what movie that might have been :). This being said, I love the concept of horror movies, and there are horror movies that I love to watch. Evil Dead 2 has enough humor and quirkiness that I can make it all the way through without peeing my pants.

So what the hell am I doing here? Well, while I generally can't stomach the movies you brave souls consume every day, I do love horror art, so much so that I spend a lot of time producing horror art myself. I have been sculpting since the early 90s, and a lot of my work could easily be classified as "horror", usually with a dash of humor or weirdness.

And so a final confession: I am here primarily for the artwork...both to share mine and enjoy that of others. And maybe along the way I'll pick up some tips for fun horror movies that aren't going to put me into an early grave :).

cheers,
Dug Stanat
