Yeah, they started back in the mid 80s and I think they broke up in the late 90s. They have a really great raw rockabilly sound in their early records, and kind of expanded as they went on. They put out a lot of awesome records, though. You should definitely check them out. Here's a great live version they did of Gene Vincent's tune "Baby Blue":

tis alright.needed the double bass in that song

I love the lack of bass in most of their songs. It gives them a really raw, primal sound, I think.

yeah i guess it does like rockabilly black keys or something
,stand up bass and stand up drums dont give much bass though.just a tap tap tap and a slap slap slap

Haha, yeah that's true. The bass is usually a little extra rhythm more than anything else. But it's still such a common sound in rockabilly that it's nice to hear something else, too.

Love that Melvins record. "The Smiling Cobra" is one of my favorite tunes of theirs.
Huge fan of the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, too. They had some great songs together.
Have you ever heard Gene Autry's early material? He was pretty much a Jimmie Rodgers copycat, but it's great stuff:
