I need your help and suggestions please, what movies should I watch on Halloween night that will really set the mood? It can be newer movies or older movies. =)

The Thing and Insidious are some good Halloween movies.

Absolutely and a lot of the Hammer films are good picks also.
For us, black and white really captures the mood and HORROR HOTEL. NIGHT OF THE DEMON and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD get frequent viewings

These are the ones I watched last Halloween if I'm remembering right:

Halloween (1978)
Trick 'r Treat (2007)
Fright Night (1985)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Halloween and Trick 'r Treat are obvious choices that I always watch on Halloween, I guess I just like the other two haha.

This is always the most difficult dilemma I confront in life. Aim for diversity and variety: that Saw marathon may provide gore but doesn't really capture the Halloween spirit. Same goes for Universal Monsters in succession, they'll start running together. Alternate periods (silent, classic, modern, contemporary) and horror sub-genres (zombies, monsters, slashers) and you'll have a satisfying casserole of horror on Halloween.

Halloween and Halloween 3 are probably tops. Perhaps Halloween 2 but I'm not too crazy about that one. Maybe add Halloween H20. It's not perfect but if you like Halloween 2 then H20 isn't that bad.

People swear by Trick r Treat. I like the atmosphere but not the movie that much. But I do want to see what they do for the sequel.
