Yeah I didn't like the second album initially but it's grown on me. Not as wild but still has some solid tunes on it.

I realize I could just youtube it but I'd rather hear your opinions. Is it hippy type music, this Captain Beyond? And if so is it something a Zappa fan would dig?

They were a hard rock band (featuring the original Deep Purple singer Rod Evans) with psychedelic tendencies. Personally I think they were a bit to heavy to be called "hippie". Not as out there as Zappa but maybe similar to tracks he did like Willie The Pimp... I'd say a Zappa fan would dig because I'm one and I like the band a lot.

Hey Elvis, did you listen to the Sun Red Sun record? I forget the title(its a burn) and I realize its old as hell but I think you might like it. It had Ray Gillen and Mike Starr.
