i cant commit to transferring to CD because i'm not in front of the PC long enough to do that these days ..

you think i'm slow with DVDs .. thats lightning compared to re-encoding vinyl ..

It is a pain to copy vinyl to cd. I also have a cd burner hooked up to my stereo and have done a few.I hate it when you get near the end of a record and then you get a big dust ball on the needle....fucks up the whole recording.

i would do each track seperately - thats what made it so time consuming ...

Yes, Sisters Of Mercy definitely have some great metal elements to them. Motorhead is one of their favorite bands afterall...

Ministry is also great as some of you have mentioned. They too also are very metal... starting with The Land of Rape and Honey.
Siouxsie is another favorite of mine. I don't really know a lot of Oingo Boingo but Danny Elfman is a great composer. Most of the bands aforementioned by you guys are great and I'm very glad to see that the people here have good taste. :D

One of my favorite bands, and I agree that the first two albums are the best. Some Girls Wander By Mistake is good, but it's just a collection of their early EPs and singles.
