Charles Manson's Parole Denied Again

Charles Manson Denied Parole For 11th Time

Los Angeles, California - The infamous Charles Manson, who led his cult in the 1969 murder of film star Sharon Tate and four other people at her Beverly Hills mansion, was denied parole Wednesday for the 11th time in his 38 years in prison, the California prison administration said.

"The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's Board of Parole Hearings today denied parole for convicted mass murderer Charles Manson during a hearing at Corcoran State Prison," it said in a statement.

"The denial was for five years, the maximum allowed by law," it said.

"Manson did not appear before the panel and will be eligible for another hearing in 2012. The decision marks the eleventh time that Manson has been denied parole since 1978," it added.

Manson, 72, is among the most infamous inmates of the United States.

He and four of his followers were convicted of seven counts of first degree murder during an August, 1969 crime spree in Los Angeles County that included the fatal stabbing of five people in the home of actress Sharon Tate and the murders the following day of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.

Manson and his followers were spared the death penalty after California banished capital punishment in 1970. Their sentences were commuted to life in prison.

A comment was made as to what danger can this man impose at 79..?
I think the parole board is doing him a favour by releasing him.
Alot has changed since he was jailed..he wouldn't be able to survive.

I think he still has some of the old "Family" outside, that are loyal to him. And I'm sure he has a lot of new "fan" boys and girls. 1 of the reasons they keep him in, and probably will continue to do so, till he dies. The other reason is Richard Nixon, most likely. When Abigail Folger(coffee heiress) was discovered to be one of the victims, I'm sure it didn't sit well with Nixon(doubt he was a Tate or Polanski fan). He probably took extra steps to see that Manson never saw the light of day again.

As for a reality show, Manson would be on parole upon a release, so still covered under the Son of Sam laws. Even if he was allowed, he wouldn't earn a dime.
