Twin Peaks : Worth Watching?

The new season of Twin Peaks is coming out next year. I've been hearing a lot of great things about the show for the past several years. I was very young when it was on TV but I still remember the grown ups talking about it a lot.

A few years ago I decided to check the show out. I made it about 5 episodes into season 1 and got bored. I liked the atmosphere and mood but I wasn't engaged in the story much at all. Have to say, I was disappointed.

About a year later I watched the movie Fire Walk With Me... Other than a slightly slow pace at times, I really liked it. Creepy and scary with several chilling and bizarre moments. I was hooked and wanted to see more but then I remembered how bored the series made me.

My question is this:
Is Twin Peaks worth watching?

Should I revisit the series In preparation for the newest season?
Also, the ending of the series had been spoiled on me a long time again so maybe that had something to do with my disinterest.

If you watched the first 5 episodes and was bored, yeah you might not like the rest of the series. I enjoy it very much and have watched it through 3 times so to me its definitely worth it, a life altering series.

Absolutely you should watch it, it's one of the greatest, most surreal television shows ever made. It gets weirder as it goes on so if you like the bizarre creepiness of the film you should enjoy the series.

I never cared for it. It just got more and more confusing to the point where they didn't even try to make sense any more.

Huh. I never felt confused.

Just found out the Trent Reznor and the guitarist of Nine Inch Nails are going to be in the third season. :( Not a fan of their music at all.
