Not as good as 1 & 3 but I was surprised that it actually made me jump a couple of times. I think that this is the only horror franchise that I've actually kept up with.
I have really enjoyed this series myself, at least 1-3 (4 was terrible). Honestly, I think Paranormal Activity was one of the best horror films of the previous decade and one of the scariest films I ever watched. To me, the first one's subtly is what scared me more than anything. Excellent development of suspense as well. I heard many people say that The Marked Ones was really good. I recently found it at a pawn shop for $3, so I plan to watch it soon.

A film to put one in the pensive mood. It's meandering structure of "a-week-in-the-life" is no thrill ride, but the way it finds humour in bleakness and shows the functioning disfunction of a small town is certainly interesting to watch.

3/4

I agree; The fourth episode was really horrible and the sequel was a bit of a snoozefest but I do believe that the first movie is truly scary. Not to mention, I think it's infinitely clever the tricks that they employ for special effects. I'd love to hear what you think of The Marked Ones.

The Bay (2012) Enjoyed this was pretty entertaining.

In Fear (2013) Pretty suspenseful and reasonably entertaining.

Paul W.S. Anderson's attempt at creating Titanic by fusing the beginning of Conan the Barbarian, the middle of Gladiator and the ending of 2012.

Avoid, unless you have a sweet tooth for mindless CGI and Anderson's antics.

Thumb resize.

It’s the Abyss with Borg; a bad merge of Aliens & T2, with an evil V’Ger.

4. Grand Budapest Hotel
5. Life Aquatic
6. Bottle Rocket
7. Fantastic Mr. Fox
8. Moonrise Kingdom

If you liked Rushmore, you'd probably like Bottle Rocket; those movies are not as stylized as his later work (some people object to his later style but I really love it).
My mistake, I did see some of his movies.
Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise Kingdom. Liked them both.

I don't mind the style. As long as the story's good.
Up next is The Royal Tenenbaums.

I kept waiting for something to happen & then it hit me: “This movie’s about to end.” It’s 84 minutes of people talking around a plot that never happens.
