Jodorowsky box set!!!!!!!!

The film that started the Midnight Movie, El Topo, has finally been released on DVD in an impressive box set, although it's missing Santa Sangre:(

Fando y Lis, El Topo, The Holy Mountain and bonus soundtrack CDs!!!!!

Yeah, it ain't horror, but the real film fanatics out there need to grab this! For the rest of you, Alejandro Jodorowsy is an amazingly, flipped-out writer, director, philosopher whose films transcend the medium.

I've only seen Santa Sangre, which I do consider horror. What's El Topo like?

It's like a spaghetti western with blood and some rather disturbing imagery, but it plays as a spiritual journey. It's really cool.

Holy Mountain is crazier, more of a pure spiritual quest. Jodorowsky really believed the film would change the world...it didn't, but his effort is astounding.

Fando y Lis is part Fellini, part Dada and mostly incoherent, but still fun to watch.
