Yeah it’s definitely a good one that’s underrated. I really like the characters and performances, the black humour, the SFX work and the atmosphere that encapsulates it all.

I'll second these!

Close Encounters of the Third Kind-1977.

First time watching it, definitely lived up to the hype.

So happy that you liked it! I've been fascinated by Close Encounters forever. So many wonderful moments and I love the energy of the film. Watching it, I feel like a wide eyed kid again.

Absolutely! A film that awes. Unfortunately, not many of them.

Dune (1984)
6/10

Exquisite set/costume design and music. Very intriguing start to story, but shortly after reaching planet Dune, seems to haste to conclusion, becoming more drudging & confusing, or otherwise purposeless, as it proceeds.

Sleepaway Camp (1983)
6/10

Some horribly simple dialogue, poor amateur acting and repetitive plodding scenes. Still, the two sibling leads carry the film with heart. Most of the revenge kills are imaginative & shot well; and has a gutsy twist ending.

Urban Cowboy (1980)
6.5/10

Interesting and mildly engaging romantic relationship film. It's shot, paced & acted well. But in many ways, even the happy ending is rather bleak.

House (1986)

Cheesy 80s horror comedy, kinda plays like a Disney movie. Billed as a haunted house flick, but really more of a creature feature, and a very rubbery one at that. I don't think I would ever watch it again (except maybe with my kids), but I can't fault it too much because it's actually pretty entertaining.

Watched on Screambox.

7/10

Check out Jodoworsky's Dune. I saw it recently, and found it very interesting.
