For sure! I love everything about it. It's a much more satisfying music experience... especially hunting it all down :D

I'm curious to know what sort of record player you have and how you keep up with the maintenance of the stylus. We got so fed up with things going wrong that we donated all our LPs to the Salvation Army.

I pick up lots of gems from Salvation Army etc :cool:

I've just got a Aiwa PX-E855 at the moment:



Nothing flash at all (cheap entry level kinda deal) but it does the trick. I'll be upgrading to something else when I have the cash.

Not much maintenance needed for the stylus. I've changed it once since I've had it. I can pick up a replacement stylus quite cheaply, think I'll have to change it maybe once a year depending on how many LPs in rougher condition I play on it... I've got a small brush that came with the last stylus I brought to get rid of any dust build up.

Sounds like you struck a temperamental turntable. That's always a pain in the ass. I've had the same problem with CD players... maybe that's why I prefer vinyl :D

i was gutted i got rid of all my records when cd first came out, people saying it was better sound, wish i kept them now. do u still buy cd or just records. do they still release new albums on record ? cus i am still trying to collect all my records i got rid off.

I was buying both formats for awhile but couldn't afford to keep it up so just vinyl now. Ripped most of my CDs to MP3 and traded them/passed them onto friends or family.

There's quite a lot of new albums coming out on vinyl you'd be surprised at what you can find. There's also some stunning re-releases of the older albums coming out. I'm not anal about original pressings and just enjoy having albums I love on vinyl. You're actually spoilt for choice these days there's not much you can't track down.
