The Splat Pack peels back the flesh of 21st Century horror and how it has
redefined modern pop culture.

LOS ANGELES, CA – THE SPLAT PACK is a pivotal documentary that looks
back at the first decade of 21st Century horror films and a core group of
filmmakers who re-energized the genre.

These directors were dubbed “The Splat Pack,” by UK film critic Alan Jones
because their films displayed new and intense levels of gore. The Splat Pack
proved that R-rated horror could be commercially and critically successful. Their
films also caused some critics to label them as “torture porn” because of the
visceral level of violence.

Interviews include Alexandre Aja (“High Tension”, “Piranha 3D”), Darren Lynn
Bousman (“Saw II-!V”), Adam Green (“Hatchet”), Alan Jones (film critic-Total
Film), Harry Knowles (Head Geek-Ain’t It Cool), Greg McLean (“Wolf Creek”),
Neil Marshall (“Dog Soliders”, “The Descent”), Greg Nicotero (KNB FX), Eli Roth
(Cabin Fever, Hostel), and Staci Layne Wilson (film critic-Horror.com).

THE SPLAT PACK is produced by Wyrd Studios and available exclusively
through their site www.wyrdstuff.com .

Wyrd specializes in making original films and in-depth documentaries, which
explore the fantastic genres of science fiction, horror, and fantasy. The production
company was formed in 2007 by William Janczewski, James B. Myers, and Frank
H. Woodward.

Wyrd’s premiere documentary was LOVECRAFT: FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN, a
chronicle of author H.P. Lovecraft's the life, work and mind. The film featured

interviews with Peter Straub, Neil Gaiman, Guillermo Del Toro, and John
Carpenter.

LOVECRAFT premiered at the 2008 Comic-Con in San Diego where it won Best
Documentary Film. It went on to screen at festivals in Montreal, Buenos Aires, Port
Alegre-Brazil, Park City, Portland and Los Angeles. LOVECRAFT is currently
available on DVD & Blu-Ray.

Wyrd is currently in production on two new films including MEN IN SUITS, a
history of creature suits and the actors who bring them to life, and a documentary
on the counter culture of Steampunk.
