Wes Craven will present Stan Winston with a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Maniafest. The festival - which celebrates the best of sci-fi, horror, and fantasy - kicked off yesterday at the Laemmle Theatre in Santa Monica, California.

To say that Stan Winston has impacted movies would be an understatement. One of only two special effects artists to be honored with a star Hollywood's Walk of Stars, Winston founded Digital Domain with director James Cameron and Industrial Light & Magic's Scott Ross. Digital Domain won awards for their work in "What Dreams May Come", "The Fifth Element", "Titanic", and others.

Winston himself has an impressive 30-year career. He's taken home 4 Academy Awards for his work in films like "Terminator 2" and "Jurassic Park", and won acclaim for his excellent creations in "The Thing", "Edward Scissorhands", and "Artificial Intelligence: AI". Congratulations Stan, and thanks!
