Fangoria recently gained access to some excellent DVD information that any horror fan would be glad to sink their teeth into. The one that has Friday the 13th fans more excited than even "Freddy vs. Jason" is the announcement of the Friday the 13th box set tentative release!

Here are the scoops:

Friday The 13th Boxed Set - Tentatively scheduled for September '04. According to sources, "New Line is currently attempting to put together uncut versions of as many of the films as possible." (I'm still unsure what they mean by this, as this writer thought Paramount owned the rights to the first 8.)

Stuart Gordon's King Of The Ants - DEJ Productions has picked up the video rights and will debut the DVD sometime late next spring. Theatrical release dates are still being negotiated.

House Of The Dead - Yes, it hasn't even hit theaters yet, but Artisan is already planning to release the DVD late next January or early February.

Suicide Circle - TLA Video is set to release the controversial Japanese film on November 18, in both R and unrated versions. The film is about a wave of inexplicable suicides sweeping Tokyo after 54 high-school girls jump in front of a train.

Inner Senses - Tai Seng grabbed the DVD rights to Leslie Cheung's last film before his tragic death. The supernatural film will be packaged as a special edition with a making-of featurette, the original trailer, filmographies and both the original Cantonese soundtrack (in Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and DTS-ES audio) and a new Mandarin track (Dolby Digital 5.1 EX), with removable subtitles.

Bob Clark's Deathdream - Blue Underground will release the special edition DVD in the spring/summer of 2004. It will include a brand new 16x9-enhanced, fully restored widescreen transfer, two audio commentaries (Clark and writer Alan Ormsby), an interview with Tom Savini (Deathdream was his first film an effects artist) and more extras yet to be determined.
