I think the definition of any genre is put up to the viewer. Like thriller vs horror. I can't think of a concrete difference between the two, but I can sort of tell while watching the film itself. And then there's combinations of genres like horror-comedy. I think getting all offended because someone doesn't think American Psycho is a horror film isn't worth my time.
And I laughed so hard at that ending you put in there.
Why is that a "bold statement"? You're right; it's more of a black comedy, but I think it's intense enough at the end to be more than just a black comedy.
The only one I actually like was The New Blood just because it was a little something different. I just don't think any of them are entertaining or innovative.
