I think the big thing was that they focused so much on the actual revelations and the end of the world, that it basically ending up being about bill pullman trying to save his ex stepson was a monumental let down.
What about Jesus? And the Antichrist? The virgin mother and the false baby? Who the fuck were the cat women? Where did mr lizrd guy go? what about the dagger that was supposed to kill him? Why didnt it? Did they lose it?
The list goes on. In my opinion, raising questions in a story, especially profound ones, and then not answering them is bad writing. Dropping them like they werent even important to begin with (as revelations did), is terrible writing.
It was interesting, well acted, well casted, and very engaging, but the end is THE most important part. Secret Window made that point pretty well.
