Tough...but I have to go with George A. Romero though. Night Of The Living Dead really put Horror movies back on the map to me and paved the way for other independent film makers to be able to become successful.

Sir Alfred

Alfred Hitchcock
|
John Carpenter.
|
Hardest one for me yet...personally I would love to vote Lucio because he doesn't get enough love. Alfred was one of the greatest directors of all time, but he was mostly a suspense/thriller director in my mind. So, since this is Horror directors I have to vote John Carpenter.
|
John Carpenter
|
Damn.... Carpenter has made a bunch of my favourite horror movies, but I think Hitchcock is the better director. I think I'm gonna even things up and vote for Hitchcock.
|
Sir Hitchcock
|
Hitchcock for me as well
|
Sir Alfred Hitchcock - 6 (roshiq, neverending, newb, Straker, fortunato, The Villain)
John Carpenter - 4 (Disease, Geddy, realdealblues, CaptainSpaulding) Lucio Fulci - 1 (wizard of gore) Sir Alfred Hitchcock wins, and moves into the Final. |
THE FINAL James Whale (Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Invisible Man) http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ames-Whale.jpg vs. George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow) http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1..._01_xlarge.jpg vs. Sir Alfred Hitchcock (Psycho, The Birds, Rebecca) http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...-hitchcock.jpg |
Well, Whale directed my favorite horror film...
Romero directed one really great movie, a couple of really good movies, a bunch of okay movies, and some kinda sucky movies... Htchcock rarely failed, and at his best, was pure genius. His influence cannot be overestimated. I'll have to vote for Sir Alfred. |
George A. Romero
|
Whale directed my favorite movie as well...
Hitchcock was one of the greatest directors of all time... But again as this is a "Horror Director's Tournament" I have to go... George A. Romero!!! |
Bah- Romero's been directing the same movie for the past 25 years. He's creatively bankrupt. Of the three choices, he's the worst director.
But then again... this IS HDC. |
Hitchcock..... The reason I voted Argento over Romero in the previous round was basically for the reasons outlined above.
