shit - what else is playing (i made him a promise)

see this movie Sky High is playing - i know nothing about it 'cept Kurt Russell is in it and he's a faforite actor. Rated G.

Best movie I've seen in ages .. funny as hell .. great lines, earnest performances and the best soundtrack of the year (in my opinion) - its mostly 80's music redone.

I'm sure 2/3 of the people here will hate it (no tits, no one dies or swears) but i thought it was a gas .. a really pleasant suprise..

I'm sure I would've rented it after finding out Bruce Campbell was in it but other than that I had no intentions of seeing it at all. Now I think I'll give it a try, you should be a critic...you sold the hell out of it.

ahhh i just really liked it when i didnt think i would ..

now i'm a bit nervous that i've built it up and the opposite will happen for everyone else :)

urgeok 08-07-2005 05:57 PM

my last seen movie :

The Suckling.

This is the kind of movie i would have liked 20 years ago when i was into anything horror and even a bad movie was good for a laugh.

i'm pretty far past that stage and i hate inept pieces of shit like this now .. its an exercise in incompetance .. acting, directing, story (if you want to call it that), music , effects (again - a pretty strong term for what they had)

a big bag of useless shit. I have no time for this garbage anymore..

I had mixed emotions about "The Jacket" I liked it but I am not really sure why.

Last movie I saw, The Last Broadcast on IFC.

Excellent piece of work if you get a chance to see it its on IFC this month.

I liked it too. Adrien Brody really is an amazing actor, he has impressed me in everything I have seen him in so far, even if the movies themselves have sometimes been less than impressive.

Last movie watched was The Beguiled. A Clint Eastwood film I had never heard of and caught on AMC today. What an interesting film. And he was a complete cad. There was a man that just didn't respect the situation he was in.:p

AUSTIN316426808 08-07-2005 07:26 PM

You know the studio wanted to call it "Pussy footing Down at the Old Plantation"

I'm full of useless Eastwood information

After a dip into the waters of Asian cinema and more mainstream horror fare...42nd Street Freak has returned to his Grindhouse roots with a viewing of Andy Milligan's suitably mad "The Man with Two Heads"

That one looks interesting......at first i thought it was the Ray Milland/Rosey Greer movie you were talking about...haven't seen that one in years.

Burnt Offerings

This is one of those movies i missed for some reason .. everyone else had seen it but i never did till last night ..

Oliver Reed and Karen Black - 2 actors i like ...
(supported by Burgess Meredeth and Bette Davis - who was great)
creepy 70's style possession movie ..

I liked it ..still stands up well and had a couple of nasty scenes that bothered me (the father/son pool scene specifically)

worth the wait :)

Two damn fine choices! "Tourist Trap" is a mostly forgotten little gem.

What a classic poster! Great days.

The title of Milligan's film was stupidly changed to specifically cash in on the succes of the Milland film. Even though no man (or woman) has more than one head!

i don't know why either...

i'm watching house of the dead right now... so bad i want to cry. seriously. i'd take alexander any day over this.

Ritualistic 08-08-2005 04:11 PM

Last movie I watched was "Taste of Blood"
It is a HG Lewis flick and IMO it has to be the worst.
However, the short flick "Nigtmare at Elm Manor" is absolutely boobalicious LOL It`s added in the special features.

42ndStreetFreak 08-08-2005 05:02 PM

The excellent "Running out of Time" with a top cast in top form headed by the best thing in HK cinema Hollywood (thankfully) hasn't got it's clammy hand on...Andy Lau.

The_Return 08-08-2005 09:33 PM

Sleepover

Yes, I watched Sleepover. Kill me now. Please.

bwind22 08-08-2005 11:04 PM

Eight Legged Freaks

Yes. It's as bad as it looked. D

Welcome to the Dollhouse

This is wonderfully offbeat, dark and twisted comedy about an awkward kid at an even more awkward stage of her life. It's a dark comedy, not a horror film, but I think most of you on here would like it anyways. B+

The_Return 08-09-2005 06:52 PM

Who Framed Roger Rabbit

A-friggin-mazing. I absolutly loved it! Funny, groundbreaking, and just plain great, all wrapped up into one! I especially loved the Looney Tunes cameos:D

The_Return 08-09-2005 06:53 PM

The Green Mile

Great film. I read the book a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised at how faithful to it this was. Perfectly cast, too.

Ritualistic 08-09-2005 07:13 PM

SKINNED DEEP

Rented a movie called "Skinned Deep". It was okay I suppose it is worth a watch.

MoonLit Meadow 08-09-2005 07:20 PM

Great movie! A little hard to watch at times though, it can be brutally honest. Poor kid...lol.

Watching Spiderman 2 right now.

I had already seen it once. And yeah, I liked it far better than the first one though I enjoyed it quite a bit as well. The Green Goblin suit in the first one bugged the hell out of me though. Completely took me out of the movie at times...lol.

bloodrayne 08-10-2005 01:09 AM

Little Shop Of Horrors...The original with Jack Nicholson...Dustin hadn't seen it

Subspecies...Dustin hadn't seen that one either

Demons and Demons2...Well, it's Argento;)

Dead Of Night...I fell asleep:o

Diary Of Ellen Rimbauer...Much better than I expected

Detour...Everyone said this was a 'Wrong Turn' knockoff...But....I just didn't see the similarities...Except for the kids getting lost and the cannibalism...

Pitch Black...Again...

alkytrio666 08-10-2005 08:49 AM

Last night I watched Evil Dead II with commentary.

Best commentary ever I think, it was fucking hilarious. A lot of cool info, too.
