Neither of those options that would please THEM, will work for us...I can't imagine how TALKING to them could help when we will NEVER say what they want to hear...So, there will be conflict
I believe that with the passage of years, people have forgotten that we TRIED to 'talk' to Sadam...He refused to comply with UN inspectors for years, they looked the other way, allowing him to do whatever he wanted while stealing UN aid from his people (aid that he shouldn't have been receiving because he wasn't keeping his end of the deal), and killing his people...We gave him MONTHS to let the UN inspectors in...He refused...We warned him for WEEKS that we were serious, and that we WOULD attack...We even gave him the date and the hour!...He STILL refused...If he had nothing to hide, why not let the inspectors in?
Talking did nothing.

But my point is, has war done any better? Look how it's left Iraq. They were better off under Saddam! Think how many innocent people our soldiers have killed! Our bombs, our guns. I'm pretty sure, after all the pain that they've suffered, talking and working things out without explosions and bullets would be a breath of fresh air to them.
Talking doesn't hurt anybody, and that's it's benefit. You sit the extremists down and there is always something that can benefit both sides. ALWAYS.
And I find it funny how people talk about how the extremist terrorists ruin lives, kill innocent people for having different views on the world. That, of course, is completely different from what our soldiers have been told to do i suppose? Well, there's that reason, and oil. The greed of our already wealthy nations never ceases to amaze me.
