I was never that much into Skynyrd, so I never saw them. I would have loved to see Uriah Heap though. I never got to. I would suggest Savoy Brown, but you've probably already gotten in to them. Nitzinger was a great Southern rock band, along with Black Oak Arkansas. Very early Steve Miller Band was pretty blues influenced and rocked. You'd probably dig Ten Years After as well. Crow just came to mind- their first 2 albums were great hard rock. I had another name in mind and it just slipped away.... Oh, I remember- Frijid Pink. Also Canned Heat, if you've never checked them out.

never did see the original Skynyrd line-up. I did see them when they first "came back" with all of the surviving members. Then they all started dropping like flies.
Another great band from the past...Point Blank |

Cheers for the recommendations guys keep 'em coming! Do you guys like Blackfoot? Got a couple of LPs that tear it up. Southern rock but a bit heavier. Picked up Peter Kaukonen's Black Kangaroo yesterday and have been digging it a lot. |
