First one is among the best horror films ever made.

All others sucked.

Not really. It was better than the other sequels, but I really wasn't impressed at all by anything but the original.

Freddy is just funny to me,he isnt really scary.I hope the remake makes him a little more scary.

I'd rather see another sequel/prequel as good as New Nightmare than a remake... maybe they should have another go at a TV series.

Or they could just come up with something original and try to squeeze money out of that...But don't count on it :(

More originality comes out of bastardizations when it comes to franchises. Folklore of a sinister backstory, sometimes better as a comic, TV episode, shitty sequel but its all essential if the character strikes home for you.

Loved the fist one, but got soured on the rest after seeing the second, so I never revisited the series. You can hold out hope that good material can still be created. The whole concept of dreams (nightmares) intermingling with reality is fantastic, so the groundowork has been laid. Can't say that I'm "holding my breath" awaiting the new release, though.

nightmare on elm street

I also have the nightmare on elm street box set and freddy vs jason
and new nightmare, I like freddy's movies. but didn't they explain
in the first or second film what made freddy what he is today. they didn't
tell why jason is why heis the way he is except that the counselor weren't
watching him and he drowned in the lake.
has anyone seen hatchet: it has freddy(robert england) candyman(tony todd)
and the other kane hodder (who played jason) and is the boogeman) in it
it was great.
