I'm a huge fan of the Nightmare series, but a remake is no good. Everybody is doing them, and it's really starting to get annoying. Just go make a shitty sequel...no expects much from a sequel, and it really doesn't have to live up to anything. If they do a remake, then it has to live up to the original, and they never do. So I actually hope this film never happens....along with the Hellraiser remake.

Theres so many things wrong with this I dont even know where to start.

I really enjoyed the first one (I actually re-watched it last night) as a legitimate horror movie. I enjoyed the rest of the series as classic 80's slasher camp. New Nightmare introduced a darker, scarier Freddy that I really liked and made him the monster he always should have been.

If they remake it (given the current trend I don't know why they wouldn't) I'd like to see it taken back to the feel of a proper horror movie, rather than a horror comedy.

As mediocre as the remakes were I would compare "old" Leatherface versus remake Leatherface. Updated and much more intimidating, thats what I would like to see done with Freddy.

Yeah if they do this and add something new to the remake, I won't really have a problem.

There are some good remakes out there, there is just more bad ones.

Is Robert Englund going to be Freddy? I don't know if the remake would work for me if he isn't. Who else could be Freddy?

I dont have any suggestions, but with Englund's consent it could be kind of cool to see someone else in the role.
