You are right Steve Martin is an odd choice for that. Now that I saw that movie...the bio......I have heard the same opinion from other people too.

I think Geoffrey Rush is becoming one of my favoirite actors now. I have yet to see him in a role that he didn't own!

cassanova frankenstein :)

I agree with you nine9. I love the Pink Panther movies and this movie made Peter Sellers look like a real nutcase.Geoffrey Rush did an amazing job though and I wish they had used him instead of Steve Martin in the upcoming remake of The Pink Panther.
if you want to see a killer Peter Sellers movie ..
see if you can get your hands on The Magic Christian with Ringo Starr ... brilliant film with tons of cameos ...
One of my all time faves

it is an amazing movie as well ...

the man was a genius, no doubt about it.

but apparently he was a very difficult person.

its always the comedians that have the demons. Which is probably why they feel the need to make people laugh .. to get their love and admiration ..
Out of every comedy duo the straight man was always the balanced guy and the funny man - the fuckup in real life..

Except maybe for Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis - I think they were equally fucked up!

I just finished watching Critters, a great overlooked 80's movie.
