I'll go with John Trent. Sam Neil played an excellent part in this underrated John Carpenter film.
|
Sam Neil always does a good job. But have you noticed you don't get much of any variation from him (which can be said of a lot of actors). Even when he became a villain at the end of Event Horizon, he seemed like the same old Sam Neil to me. = )

Murder Legendre - 5 (bamahorrorfan87, MichaelMyers, realdealblues, The Villain, knife_fight)
Peter Neal - 1 (Anthropophagus) John Trent - 1 (metternich1815) Murder Legendre finally seals the long-pending but easy win. |
Great win. I think Murder Legendre is the dark horse in this contest.

Charlotte Hollis - I can't let Bette Davis get shut out!

I'll vote for Charlotte too... Sally's already got a following and however good a film Se7en is, I just can't bring myself to vote for Pitt. |
tough choice. Three good performances...
Detective David Mills (Se7en) is my vote. He did a fantastic job in creating a very real character with depth, complete with unique voice inflections and patterns (very impressive), and quirks, and conveyed a character that subtly changed through the film. Interestingly, of the three Oscar winning actors in this film (Spacey, Paltrow, Freeman), I thought Pitt did the best performance, and definitely one of his best. Bette Davis nailed another excellent performance. She'd be my 2nd place. |
Charlotte Hollis, although this was a really tough choice.
|
Tough choice between Sally and Mills, but I will go with Detective David Mills. Unfortunately, I have not seen Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte, but I will note that I enjoyed Bette Davis's performance in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. That film (Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte) is on my list to watch though.

Frankie Paige (Stigmata). Yes, good movie. Wasn't quite what I expected. Not that I really knew what to expect...
|
Billy Peltzer (Gremlins/Gremlins 2: The New Batch)
Yeah, I'll also comment that Stigmata was a good movie. I saw it in the theater and while I knew what the Stigmata was, I didn't know what they were going to do with it. I used to read a lot of Gnostic Texts and I was pretty surprised when I heard words from what was probably my favorite, the Gospel Of Thomas, being spoken. |
Frankie Paige. Personally, I am not Christian, but despite that I still found the film quite good. I think you could say it is an interesting twist on the demonic possession films. Anyway, good film, in my opinion.

Although Warlock is also one of my favorites. If it had been the character of Giles Redferne or the Warlock himself Julian Sands, they would have gotten my vote. Both of those characters in Warlock were great. |
