They do, but you actually have to CHECK them once in a while.... Its my first house, i have lived in apartments until now, so it never occured to me until itr weas too late. Thats okay, though. We have 100 gallons comingtoday.

ah yeah, thats the trouble when moving to a new place.
how long will 100 gal last? is that stuff expensive?

A old Church my Parents go to is heated with oil tank fed heaters...seams bit old fashioned or ancient to have a modern house heated with one. Would have thought conventional heating would be cheaper.

btw sorry to hear about the fish.

We are back in business. the temperature at home is now liveable.

The sad irony to the fish freezing to death is that they recieved a burial at sea, by that i mean they got dumped into the freezing stream out back. Seems a bit more respectful than flushing them down the toilet.

I'm Sorry about your fish.

Here in Texas the weather can get miserably cold--but not dangerously cold.

Not too many years ago I lived in the country and heated with propane. The tank was in the backyard, the gauge didn't work, and you had to pour hot water on the tank and see where the level was by where the ice froze from the hot water--what a bitch!

And you always ran out when it was cold and muddy and they couldn't get the truck close enough to the tank to fill it.

I had 14 dogs at the time so it gave additional meaning to Three Dog Night.
