It's also very funny in a "look, I'm more perverse than you" kind of way.

i hated it ..

i couldnt connect with any character or any theme in the film ..
i dont always need something to connect to - but i just soooo disconnected that i couldnt give a shit about what i was seeing.

my sister worked with the blonde in that film (deborah something unger ?)
my dad got to meet her :)

Very fond of his work. Even his acting in NightBreed was convincing.

he's a good sport too ..

he had a really funny guest spot on a TV show - as himself.
everytime someone asked him about his old films (scanners) he'd tell them that he'd gone past that and would rather discuss his later, more serious work..

several minutes later, behind the main action, you see him happily describing the exploding head shot in scanners to a hot blonde with big tits in the hallway ..

pure gold :D

I've never seen a Cronenberg film that I didn't love. Even though he's moved farther and farther away from horror in recent years, I think that some of his later movies are among the finest I've seen. In my opinion, A History of Violence didn't quite live up to his earlier work, but it was outstanding for a mainstream film. I've always found it rather surprising that he hasn't gotten more recognition for his work. Ah well, I suppose the masses rarely recognize true genius.

And Renob: why don't you give it a rest already? Only a child would think that being gay was somehow insulting. On top of that, Cronenberg's not, but I honestly don't see how that has any bearing on his work. Perhaps you could explain why he is "pretentious." That would be better than an obnoxious troll post, which your homo comment definitely was.

Side note: anyone know where I could score a copy of Dead Ringers? The Criterion edition was out of print last time I checked, and I won't go through Ebay.

I have the criterion of dead ringers - on laserdisc ..

re the asshole called renob .. i was finally able to put him on ignore.

unfortunately that doesnt shop him from making the forum look like a place for complete fucking useless tools which could potenntially - and probably has already - scared off good, contributing new members.

as it is now the forum has a sign on it .. "fuckwits - come on in !"

fuck i wish someone would ban that useless piece of garbage and delete all his threads.

congratulations. everyone should do it. I had the misfortune of browsing this thread while i was not logged in and saw his ignorant comments. He's on my ignore list though, and its probably for the best.

You seem to be very homophobic :)

You do realise that generally speaking, homophobes are secretly gay.
