Allow me to add a poem for you (cause it's totally metal)

Spawned wanton like blight on an auspicious night
Her eyes betrayed spells of the moon's eerie light
A disquieting gaze forever ghosting far seas
Bled white and dead, her true mother was fed
To the ravenous wolves that the elements led
From crag-jagged mountains that seemingly grew in unease

Through the maw of the woods, a black carriage was drawn
Flanked by barbed lightning that hissed of the storm
(Gilded in crests of Carpathian breed)

I feel a strong bond with the Cape Cod/Nantucket whalers. When I first lived in the Boston area I would dive all up and down the coast and everything seemed oddly familiar - I couldn't get lost if I tried.

Years later, working on a pirate screenplay I picked up some mood music - whaling songs and shanties...I'd never heard the songs before, but by the third track I was overwhelmed with emotion and found myself crying. Really odd.

Doesn't mean shit, I know - but it's the closest to feeling like a "past life experience" that I've encountered.

You mean: It doesn't mean shit to most people, however for you, it was rather powerful.;)

I've always been told by friends that I've had and friends that I have who are from New England, that I should have been born there. It's not just because I completely lack a Southern drawl, but also my ideas and my desired way of life is "so New England." (I don't know this myself, but this is what they tell me).

I know that if it were 1860, I would run guns for the Union army.

Anyway, umm... I do believe in reincarnation, but I'm not so sure that we can every really know our past lives. Seeing his past lives was one of the ways Sidhartha was able to become the Buddha. Some (in different Buddhist traditions) say it's dangerous, because if you're not ready for it, you'll go mad.

In the Vedas you reincarnate until you reach moksha (release) and thus become one with everything.

Personally, I don't want to stop. There is so much out there, I'd want to live many lives and experience many adventures. I don't consider that "suffering."
